We are really excited about the new garden.  Tena Sarabia has written a grant and we will find out at the end of November if we receive the funding for this project.  We plan to begin building the garden once the funds are received.  The garden will be located in the right corner of the big playground at the back side of the school.  We have planned for 12 beds to include: tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, potatoes, onions, radishes, zucchini, squash, lettuce, blueberries, and seasonal fruits) and many herbs.  All items will be harvested and used in our menu.  We plan to have “Dirt Drive” and “A Community Day” in the spring to help fill the raised beds with soil and get our parents, teachers and students involved in this enriching experience.
