2012 Camp Tremendous Time Travelers

Welcome to Camp Tremendous Time Travelers! Get ready, get set, and go back in time. Travel with us as we explore the past and the future, the times when T-Rex roamed the earth and hieroglyphics were used to communicate. Large and small group activities will engage campers each day as they have fun exploring the unknown and looking forward to the future.

This year’s summer camp, Camp Tremendous Time Travelers, includes opportunities for campers to expand their horizons through reading with Time Traveling Story Moments, stay in shape with Timed Exercise –all while building positive character traits, vocabulary, and knowledge and having fun at the same time. Get ready for the ultimate camp experience in ten weeks of exhilarating fun. Let the travels begin!

The 2012 Summer Camp focuses on a variety of eras such as the Renaissance and the Future! Through fun learning activities, campers will explore these topics as they discover how things change through time. There will also be an emphasis on building positive character traits in the lives of campers all while encouraging them to read books about the weekly topic.

Week 1 (June 4-8): The Past – “Blast from the Past” Campers are invited to climb into the phenomenal time machine and see amazing sights like they’ve never seen before! Campers will travel back into the mysterious past.

Weeks 2 & 3 (June 11-15 & June 18-22): Prehistoric Era – “The Time Before History was Written” Campers will climb into the phenomenal time machine and travel to the frigid Ice Age and to the land of powerful, prehistoric dinosaurs.

Weeks 4 & 5 (June 25-29 & July 2-6): Ancient Civilization – “Noble Campers” Campers will climb into the phenomenal time machine and travel to cities of Ancient Greece and along the Nile River in Ancient Egypt.

Weeks 6 & 7 (July 9-13 & July 16-20): The Explorers – “Medieval Era and Unexpected Discover” Campers will climb into the phenomenal time machine and travel among nobles and knights, stroll with musicians, and experience food fit for a feast. Then, off to a new world during the Age of Discovery, where excitement of the unknown awaits!

Weeks 8 & 9 (July 23-27 & July 30- August 3): Moving West – “Western Track & Cowboys” Campers will climb into the phenomenal time machine for a rootin’ tootin’ good time! They will travel west to learn what cowboys and cowgirls did best. Join us as we sit by the campfire and sing western songs. Keep hold of your hats as we explore wagon trails, hear cowboys’ tall tales and, fill gold rush pails.

Week 10 (August 6-10): The Future – “Welcome to the Future” Campers will climb into the phenomenal time machine traveling to the year 2020. They will explore exciting futuristic inventions and prepare for the end-of-summer Fabulous Futurama Celebration on August 10, 2011. The celebration will take place at Kids ‘R’ Kids Mableton from 2:00 – 4:00.
